LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL AHRI CAT cluster seminar & brainstorm session: `Digital StoryTelling @ Foyle Artz: Desperately seeking Renaissance tales from the nearside' Prof. Paul Mc Kevitt School of Creative Arts & Technologies University of Ulster, Magee Tuesday, Oct. 14th, 2014 4.30-5.00 P.M. Room MQ-226, 1st floor, Foyle Arts Abstract Renaissance Man & PolyMath, Leonardo da Vinci, brought the arts and the sciences together. If you ask creative technologists what makes a good film or game they will usually say it's all about the STORY: good films and games have, and make, good stories. Stories have been with us since time began and used for many purposes such as passing down histories, teaching, reminding and remembering, entertainment and even wooing potential partners. Now Digital Stories are at the forefront of creative arts & technologies and embrace creative technologies, cinematic arts, music, drama, design and dance. Here, we will look at some examples of research in Digital StoryTelling and open a discussion and brainstorm session on how our AHRI CAT cluster and the School of Creative Arts & Technologies can bring its subjects together to develop new Renaissance projects in this interdisciplinary field, which is now clearly blossoming, and be at its forefront.
